| Hyperlinks Adding text based hyperlinks is an easy way to improve your listing in the search engines. Search engines assume that if you are linking to something from your page whatever it is you are linking to is likely to be closely related to the content of your page. Since your site most likely already has many hyperlinks already on it, optimizing them is a fairly simple process. To optimize a hyperlink include your most important keyword phrases in the link itself and the surrounding text.

Tips: Link keywords. Try to include your most important keyword phrases within the hyperlink itself. If you can not link the keyword, the text that immediately preceeds, or follows the the hyperlink is also a good spot.
Don't over do it. Be careful not to over do it. Make sure your links and surrounding text are still readable and make sense after you include a keyword phrase or two.
Use stylesheets. Using stylesheets you can create hyperlinks that appear the same as the rest of your text (the same color and without underlines).
Don't "Click Here". Avoid links that say "Click Here" or other catchy action phrases. Instead try something like, "Click Here to View Product X" as your linked text.
Map it. Site maps are a great way to create links on your site and give users another way to navigate your site.
